that’s light, easy, and not greasy

This body cream is a breeze to make and can be customized with whatever scent you want!
Ingredients
- 5 ounces Avocado butter (or any other soft butter like mango, hard butters like shea or cocoa will make a harder body butter but will hold a whip better)
- 3 ounces Jojoba oil (I am using a lemon balm infused blend of jojoba and sweet almond, if you’re unsure what oil to use you can check out my list here)
- Fragrance (you can use essential oils, just be careful the dilution and only use skin safe ones. I’ll add a list of lovely blends at the end)
- 1 ounce collagen *optional
- 3 drops optiphen*optional preservative

Method
- For a small batch, measure avocado butter and jojoba oil in an either a double boiler or in a stand mixer if you have a pot that fits one.
- Bring the water to a low simmer, we’re not fully melting the avocado butter, just warming enough to mix easily.
- Once the butter is about a third melted, with some lumps still in it, pull it off the pan and either attach to the stand or move to a mixer with a whisk attachment.
- Whip on a medium speed until the mixture leaves soft peaks when pulled away, scraping the sides every once in a while.
- Add your fragrance. If you have fragrances start with a teaspoon and work up until its your desired strength. If you’re using essential oils, make sure they are skin safe and have a moment to sit in the butter before adding more. Today I used a blend of frankincense, myrrh, cedarwood, and geranium (7 drops, 5 drops, 1 drop, and 5 drops) (I like a more subtle scent).
- Other great blends or scents include
- Vanilla
- Rose and Vanilla
- Lavender and Orange
- Lavender and Lemongrass
- Rosemary and Eucalyptus

Being able to make my own skin care like body cream has been such a fen experience, plus it makes gifts easy if I know what kind of scent a person likes! I hope you enjoy this recipe, happy crafting!
