A short guide on which teas and blends to use for stomach aches

School is starting and our house just got its first hit from the preschool cooties. It was rough couple days as one and after the other we all got sick. Whether you have chronic stomach pain (like me) or you’re having a wave of the sick season, these teas might be able to help out.
Teas for upset stomaches
- Marshmallow root
- Creates mucilage that coats the stomach lining, helping to reduce inflammation
- Chamomile
- Helps relieve indigestion and digestive spasms
- Peppermint
- Best for IBS or indigestion
- Ginger
- Reduces nausea and indigestion
- Fennel
- A carminative (herb that relaxes the muscles of the digestion and reproductive system
- Turmeric
- Reduces inflammation, great for IBS
I highly recommend National Geographics Guide to Medicinal Herbs, it’s one of the main places that I find my information on herbs.
Blending these herbs can also be beneficial if you are experiencing more than one symptom. Chamomile and peppermint, chamomile and ginger, ginger and fennel, turmeric and ginger to name a few.
I told you it would be a quick list. I hope that you and your stay safe during these upcoming winter and sick months!
